DeSales University to Induct Nine Alumni into Athletic Hall of Fame
On Friday, September 27, as part of Homecoming and Family Weekend, DeSales University will induct nine alumni into the 2024 Class of the Athletic Hall of Fame.
The reception, dinner, and ceremony will take place at the DeSales University Center beginning at 4:45 p.m. Former DeSales athletes and inductees include:
- Matt Brancaccio ’09 for lacrosse.
- Jen (Netwall) Brigham ’05 for women’s basketball.
- Dan Fratantoro ’06 for baseball.
- Kate (Steiner) Hanchick ’11 for softball and tennis.
- Jen Mellon ’10 for volleyball.
- Mickey Myers ’97 for baseball.
- Mario Vicari ’83 for men’s basketball.
- Phil Yetter ’07 for men’s soccer.
- Jim Zinn ’04 for men’s basketball.
Myers, who passed away on May 8, 2024, will be inducted posthumously. He was all conference on the 1996 and 1997 DeSales baseball team, and he holds the highest lifetime batting average of .406 and the 1996 season record of .429.
The DeSales University Athletic Hall of Fame seeks to identify and honor University personnel who have distinguished themselves in intercollegiate athletics as players or coaches or in some other capacity in support of athletics.
Alumni can be nominated and considered for induction based on achievements made during their collegiate athletic career or success in athletics as a graduate of the school. Inactive coaches, administrators, or staff members who have brought exceptional distinction to the athletic department can also be considered for induction.
