Work Study
The work study option is one of several ways in which students can offset the cost of their DeSales education. The Office of Financial Aid is happy to help advise and assign work study placements on a student-by-student basis.
Students who are not eligible for Federal Work Study are given the opportunity to apply for employment at DeSales University. Work opportunities at DeSales are the same as federal positions.
A student's award is paid in the form of a bi-monthly payroll check for time/hours worked. However, the awarded amount is only a budgeted figure, as each student is only paid for the time they work, not the number budgeted for their award amount.
Students who accept work study are instructed to obtain a Federal Work-Study or Institutional Employment eligibility application from the Office of Financial Aid. Students may not begin work until they turn in all the necessary employment paperwork to the payroll clerk in the Treasurer's Office.
NOTE: Submitting a FAFSA is required for all students seeking student employment.
