DeSales Recognizes Service Excellence and Honors Anniversary Celebrants
DeSales University hosted its annual Service Excellence Dinner to recognize faculty and staff members that have reached milestone work anniversaries and honor two exemplary employees.
The event is a long-standing tradition at the University and serves as an opportunity to thank employees for their contributions to the DeSales community.
One of the highlights of the evening is the presentation of two awards: Fred Richter, director of student-athlete services and women’s basketball coach, was selected as the Professional Staff Employee of the Year, while Shawn McFadden (pictured above, right), mailroom assistant, was named Support Staff Employee of the Year.
“I am humbled by the award. I love my job and most importantly the students and staff I enjoy working beside. It is always great to be recognized for the passion I have for working with DeSales University student-athletes,” said Richter about the achievement.
McFadden also expressed his gratitude. “DeSales is a wonderful place to work, everyone is friendly, and you get to know a lot of people in different fields,” said McFadden.
“Winning the award makes me feel like I am noticed and appreciated. It will keep me motivated because people depend on me and appreciate and really care about me."
This year also marked five years since Father James Greenfield, OSFS ’84, Ed.D., became president of DeSales.
The Service Excellence Dinner is an important event at DeSales University, underscoring the University's commitment to its employees and their hard work and dedication to the institution.
“DSU is blessed to have great people mentoring our young people,” said Richter. “I am proud to be part of DeSales University for the last 33 years.”
Please join us in congratulating Richter and McFadden, and in celebrating the following employees who are celebrating anniversaries:
