Students Donate Time and Talent to Celebrate MLK Day
Students are kicking off the spring semester with a spirit of service.
The Center for Faith and Justice and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion hosted a service project in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Students made more than 100 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and packaged hundreds of winter clothing items to deliver to warming stations in Allentown and Easton. They also showcased their creativity by painting positive artwork for Raub Middle School.
“It’s important to volunteer your time because some people are less fortunate,” said Sarah Wallis ’25, a dance major, who helped to package clothing and made two paintings. “It makes me feel good to help out and do what I can.”
DeSales will also honor Black History Month with several events, including a keynote with Reverend Dr. Michael Eric Dyson on February 3.
