A DeSales Christmas: Alums Help Kick Off Holiday Season with Special Concert
More than a dozen alumni from coast to coast helped spread Christmas cheer to the DSU community.
The alumni office hosted a virtual holiday concert featuring 14 alums across six decades of Allentown College and DeSales University.
Father James Greenfield, OSFS ’84, president of DeSales, began the celebration with a special Christmas blessing before Chris Stevens ’11 kicked off the caroling with “The First Noel.”
Victoria Rose Bonito ’09 served as narrator throughout the evening, recounting her time in Center Valley with a special rendition of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” The event also featured a reading of “The Christmas Story” by Dennis Razze ’75, associate professor.
Jacque Parker ’09, development officer, and Dan Villanti ’09, assistant director of alumni relations, wanted to build off the momentum from Homecoming and organized the concert in a matter of weeks.
“We were trying to think outside the box in our virtual world. How can we connect with people? How can we bring hope, joy, and Christmas spirit to our alums?”
Adds Villanti: “We have representation from every graduating class—from 1969 to 2020. At least one person from each year registered for this event. It’s amazing.”
Phoenix Best ’15, Taylor Congdon ’20, Suzanne Smart ’85, Sabrina Joseph ’19, Peter Yackovetsky ’19, Michael Covel ’17 and Emily Baver ’16 of the band Montgomery Roots, Megan Lomax ’19, Matt Enters ’15, Kailey Edwards ’20, and Alexia Rastelli ’20 also showcased their talents during the event.
