Homecoming 2020: Eliza Martin and Chris Stevens Host Virtual Dinner and Show
DeSales alums Eliza Martin ’11 and Chris Stevens ’11 came together for a special Homecoming treat.
The two hosted a virtual dinner and a show, inviting fellow alums into their homes for a French-themed evening in honor of St. Francis de Sales. Martin, winner of the Food Network show Chopped, whipped up a rustic ratatouille, while Stevens, a Broadway performer, serenaded the audience.
“For me, food is kind of a love language. So this is a really special night for us. I get to share a little bit of love with you; even though we’re not side by side physically, I get to be in your kitchens.”
Stevens and Martin were both communication and theatre majors and met the very first day of freshman year. They’ve remained close ever since and reminisced about their favorite DeSales memories.
“Being a part of the theatre program was phenomenal,” said Stevens, “such a close-knit group of family, many of us still keep in touch today.”
This isn’t the first time Martin and Stevens have shared their talents with the DSU community. Earlier this year, Martin hosted a series of live cooking classes for students who were stuck at home amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Stevens returned to his alma mater back in 2018 for a Q&A session with theatre majors.
