DeSales Extends Deposit Deadline for Accepted Students
Accepted students now have an extra month to get their deposits in. DeSales University is moving its deposit deadline from May 1 to June 1.
“We want to make sure that students who are not physically in their high schools have the time and resources they need to make a good decision,” says Mary Birkhead, associate vice president for enrollment management. “These seniors have had enough taken away from them, including their proms, their plays, and their sports. We’re giving them an opportunity to think this through well rather than rush to a decision.”
Birkhead also believes the extra time will be beneficial for students who might want to consider going to a suburban campus like DeSales or those who may now want to pursue a career in emergency management, health care, or the sciences in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Despite the negative impact that the pandemic has had on campuses across the country, Birkhead says the admissions staff has never worked harder and she remains confident about the incoming class.
“We have had an awful lot of interest. More than 600 students registered for our virtual Bulldog Bash. We had an incredible return on that initiative, and we will be celebrating those students as soon as we can.”
For students who have already made their deposit, it’s important to note that deposits cannot be refunded after May 1, 2020.
