Students at Allentown Central Catholic High School can get a jump start on college credits at no cost, thanks to a new dual enrollment agreement with DeSales University.

Father James J. Greenfield, OSFS ’84, president of DeSales, and Randy Rice, interim principal at Central Catholic, signed the dual enrollment agreement with Central Catholic students looking on.

“The Salesian tradition and strong academic programs at DeSales University provide a setting for Central Catholic students to continue their growth both academically and spiritually. This partnership may allow students to complete their college degree in less time or provide opportunities for students to double major at the University.”

Under the partnership, students will receive college credit for courses in anatomy and physiology, forensic science, honors calculus, honors economics, honors English 4, and honors theology 4. Additional courses may be approved in the future.

“Allentown Central Catholic H.S. is excited to work with DeSales University to offer dual credit classes at no cost to our students,” says Karen Rolston, director of studies at Central Catholic. “This partnership increases an already invaluable relationship between our schools, and we look forward to creating more opportunities like this in the future.”
