Attention First-Year Bulldogs: London is Calling
DeSales University is launching a new spring break trip designed exclusively for first-year students. Starting in 2020, all first-year bulldogs will have the chance to take part in The British Bulldog Experience.
The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership created the nine-day tour of London in addition to its main spring break trip because it wanted something just for first-year students.
“We’ve seen a decrease in freshmen on our trips,” says Nicholas Luchko, assistant dean of students for student engagement and leadership. “After getting feedback, one of the main things we learned was that they wanted to go with their friends.”
The British Bulldog Experience will run from March 7-15 and includes excursions to Stonehenge, Bath, Leeds Castle, Canterbury, and Dover. In addition to student life staff, two faculty members from each division will go each year and plan tours related to their field.
“This is going to be a great experience for students to be within their class, to make new friendships, and to make connections with faculty and staff. Students are going to have a great time and they’re also going to get that educational component.”
Students will also have three days of free time to explore the city on their own. They can sign up for the trip on Engage or contact the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership at seal@desales.edu for more information.
