Mask Mandate Extension: Fall 2021 Semester
Dear University Community,
Prior to the fall 2021 semester, we announced that masking is required inside all campus facilities regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status. As promised, we have evaluated this protocol to determine whether it is an effective way to protect our community from illness and interruption to our standard living and learning environments.
In consideration of our University’s COVID-19 statistics and vaccination rates, as well as recommendations from the CDC and the Pennsylvania Department of Health, we will continue to require universal masking inside all campus facilities until the end of the fall 2021 semester. Please note that you can remove your mask in residence hall rooms and while eating/drinking in the dining areas.
For more information about active COVID-19 protocols, FAQs, or to self-disclose your vaccination status, please see our official Fall 2021 COVID-19 Guide. All protocols are subject to change as new data about the virus emerges.
As we continue to practice Salesian solidarity, let us be reminded that the minor inconvenience of these mitigation efforts does not compare to the challenges faced by the victims of COVID-19. In keeping with our University’s core values, we must do all that we can to protect each other’s wellbeing during these uncertain times.
