Theodore Masthay, Ph.D.

Dr. Masthay is the new assistant professor of Political Science at DeSales University.  He is joining the Social Sciences Department from his previous position in the Department of Government and International Affairs at Augustan University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. 

He received his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri in May 2018, having written his dissertation on the topic of “Non-Emergency Exits: Voluntary Retirements from Legislatures.”  His research interests focus on Congress, political parties, and legislative careers; and he teaches courses in the general areas of American government and political philosophy.
