Eric T. Haugen joined the faculty at DeSales University in August of 2018 as an Assistant Professor of Lighting Design. Prior to accepting a position with DeSales, Eric spent 27 years working as a professional lighting designer for theatre, dance, themed entertainment, television, and architecture. 

From 1998 until 2018, Eric helmed his own lighting design firm. He has designed several theatrical projects that have been produced Off-Broadway and various productions in many regional theatres around the country. He has worked for major theme parks, lighting projects both in the US and overseas. 

His work for television has been seen around the world on projects such as the broadcasts of the US national political conventions in 2012 and 2016, the Olympics in Sochi and Rio, and in China for China Central Television national news broadcasts. In 2016 he won an Emmy as part of the team lighting the NBC coverage of the Rio Olympic games. 

His architectural lighting has been seen in various cities around the country in retail shops, themed entertainment venues, and museums. Eric is thrilled to be a new member of the DeSales faculty.
