Get Involved!
Leadership Opportunities
Students can get involved in a variety of leadership opportunities like the Student Government Association, the First-Year Leadership Summit, and the National Society for Leadership and Success during their time as a DeSales student. These groups allow students to develop skills that will support their future success.
Campus Activities Board
CAB is an student-led organization that helps to plan many activities on campus throughout the year. From bingo and trivia nights to trips on the east coast (including a Mystery Trip), being a part of CAB allows students to provide input for events and opportunities to become leaders during their time at DeSales.
DeSales Student Organizations
DeSales Student Organizations (DSOs) are registered undergraduate student-run groups. DSOs bring students together through shared interests and ideas while providing opportunities to host events and serve the campus and community.
With 40+ DSOs, every student can find a group for them or take the initiative to start their own.
Stay in the Know with Bark!
Bark is our student engagement platform that allows students to see upcoming events, join student organizations, find information about campus offices, and get involved in leadership opportunities on campus. Students can also connect with their peers, earn points and badges, and find useful resources.
More ways to get involved
International Experiences
The SEAL Office offers a spring break trip abroad each year. This week long trip is a great opportunity for students to experience the sites of international cities while connecting with their DeSales classmates. Past trips include Rome, Paris, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin.
University Traditions
DeSales is rooted in rich university traditions that build connections and create lasting memories. We come together and celebrate as a community to keep our mission and Core Values alive. Some of our traditions include Octoberfest, DeSales Got Talent, Special Olympics, Relay for Life, DUCsgiving and Tree Lighting.
Character U & Orientation
Orientation is fun-filled three days that allows first-year students to interact with their peers in entertaining and competitive ways while providing personal guidance as they transition into the DeSales University community.
Throughout their first year, the Character U program helps students explore the many academic, social, and spiritual opportunities available on campus. Each student is part of a small group led by an upperclassmen mentor who supports their transition to college, beginning in the summer and continuing through the end of the spring semester.
