Act 1 is the producing arm of the DeSales University Division of Performing Arts. We encourage our students to bring truth and beauty to the world through their art forms in Theatre, Dance and TV/Film.
DeSales welcomes youth members of our community to attend our performing arts programs. These programs include the Summer Dance Intensive, the Summer Theatre Institute, the Summer Video Institute, and the Conservatory of Dance, held during the spring and fall semesters.
Each summer, the nationally recognized Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival brings world-class theatre to DeSales University's Labuda Center for the Performing Arts. This professional company presents a vibrant season of Shakespeare, musicals, and classics on its two stages—the Main Stage and the intimate Schubert Theatre—as well as through touring productions across the Lehigh Valley.

DPT Students Showcase Research at Annual Symposium
Doctor of Physical Therapy students at DeSales University presented original research projects during the 2025 DPT Research Symposium, highlighting innovation in patient care, rehabilitation, and healthcare education. More than 200 guests attended the event celebrating clinical research and collaboration. Aviation Management Degree Program to Launch Fall 2026
DeSales University will continue to soar with a new Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management, a program that blends business leadership with hands-on flight training. In collaboration with Penn Flight Academy, based at Quakertown Airport, the University expects to begin enrolling students for fall 2026.
