Dr. Blamey has experience teaching and researching in early childhood educational settings, including Head Start. She has been a teacher educator for many years.
Fields of primary interest include developmentally appropriate teaching practices, vocabulary instruction, literacy for struggling readers, and elementary education methods.
At DeSales University, she is chair of the education department and coordinator of the Early Childhood and Elementary Education Program. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Early Childhood Foundations, Literacy Methods, Reading Assessment, and Children’s Literature.
