Multiple Pathways to Success

  • Choose your accounting track: data analytics, forensic accounting, or BS to MBA. With a BS to MBA, you’ll work toward an MBA in just 4.5 - 5 years from DeSales’ top-ranked MBA program.

Professional Development Opportunities

  • As seniors, all business majors are required to take a Business Capstone course that features a team service project, assessment tests, a research paper, and a final presentation.  The project benefits a community organization in the Salesian spirit of DeSales.

Leadership and Character Development

  • Junior and senior accounting students can participate in the United States Internal Revenue Service’s VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program. VITA has helped our local community with preparing their income taxes free of charge for more than 20 years.

What Will You Study?

All accounting students must also complete an experiential capstone course.

BS to MBA Option (4+1)

The BS to MBA in Accounting pathway can be completed in four and a half years with the addition of three (3) MBA courses. That’s two degrees in 5 years or less! Work with your academic advisor to select specific courses.

In addition to challenging courses, you will gain valuable experience through internships. An internship in accounting will help you apply what you have learned, grow your skills, and make connections in your field.

Completing an internship is also a great way to discover what type of business environment you prefer and guide your job search.

DeSales’ Career Development Center will help you find an internship that's right for you. The staff will also help prepare you for the job market upon graduation (or sooner!).  Many of our accounting majors receive job offers before graduation.
