Inaugural Bulldog Bark-A-Thon Exceeds Fundraising Goals
The first-ever Bulldog Bark-A-Thon, held on October 23, exceeded goals in raising funds to benefit the DeSales athletic department and athletic teams.
Taking place for 1,965 minutes in honor of DeSales’ founding year, coaches and athletes mobilized to raise money toward individual and collective dollar goals over two days. More than 750 donations combined to contribute a total of $80,516—far surpassing the $50,000 goal for its first year.
“It was an energizing day filled with Bulldog pride where our athletes, teams, coaches, and the full campus community came together to support our students. We’re so grateful to see this kind of enthusiasm for our student-athletes and for all the ways our donors contribute to their success.” - Carrie Gradin, director of annual giving
Teams competed for the most dollars raised amongst men’s and women’s sports with men’s basketball and women’s soccer earning top honors and an additional prize of $1,000 toward each team goal.
Teams raised funds for needs like training, travel, equipment, team building, and technology. Donors also contributed to general athletic funds, with 10% of each gift going toward the Bulldog Athletic Fund, an annual fund to benefit all student-athletes.
