O’Connor Commons to Open its Doors in June
Faculty and staff will get a special sneak peek this summer at the University’s newest venue for food and fun.
O’Connor Commons is slated to officially open its doors in June. Located in the DeSales University Center, adjacent to the campus store, it offers a relaxed, coffee-house style environment.
The space, which can be reserved for informal or formal occasions, accommodates seating for more than 100 guests. Starting in the fall, O’Connor Commons will offer happy hour on Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Guests can also order pub-style fare using dining dollars, Paw Bucks, cash, or credit.
“We wanted O’Connor Commons to be a place for everyone,” says Marc Albanese, vice president for campus environment. “It offers a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, where students, faculty, staff, and alumni can gather for anything from open-mic nights to office retreats or to simply grab some good food.”
O’Connor Commons is named in honor of Father Bernard O’Connor, OSFS, who served as the University’s third president for 19 years, and who began his career at DeSales in 1974 as a professor, dean, and vice president.
