Arab American Heritage Month in Trexler Library
During the month of April, we celebrate and honor the contributions and rich history of Muslim and Arab Americans, especially on our DeSales campus.
For nearly 15 centuries, poetry has evolved in the Arab world and is used as a method of storytelling, resistance, and expression of faith. Poets, such as Mahmoud Darwish, used their poetry to speak out against oppressive occupation. At the heart of the Arab and Muslim communities is faith, love, respect, and hospitality towards all, and their prose is a reflection of that.
Stop by Trexler Library to view our collection of Arabic poetry and check out a book or two!
