DeSales Expands Dining Options, Opens Jimmy John’s
Food lovers, rejoice! The DeSales dining experience has expanded to deliver more delicious and inclusive options than ever.
The newest additions to dining on campus include:
• In the Dorothy Day Student Union:
• Jimmy John’s aka The Sandwich of Sandwiches.
• In the Gambet Center for Business and Healthcare:
• Made-to-order Wild Blue sushi and poke bowls.
• Naturals fresh fruit juice and smoothies.
• In the DeSales University Center:
• A Simply 3 station, providing tasty meals free of nuts, dairy, and gluten.
“We needed to better accommodate allergens and address survey responses,” says Richard Jacoby, general manager of dining services, regarding why these changes are occurring now. “It was also time for a new look.”
A popular American chain restaurant, Jimmy John’s is known for its fresh, fast, and customizable sandwiches. Meal swipes can be used at the register for certain-sized sandwiches and wraps and will include a bag of chips and a fountain soda. Additionally, flex dollars can be used, and full-time DeSales employees can enjoy a discount.
For those who have specific dietary needs, the Simply 3 station is your go-to. Everything at Simply 3 is free of the top three most common allergens, so there’s no need to go through any hoops to enjoy tasty entrees and sides.
Wild Blue sushi and Naturals offer nourishing and unique offerings for those looking for individually crafted, nutritious meals or snacks. When asked what new dining option he is looking forward to the most, Jacoby struggled to choose just one.
“Everything,” he says. “These options will no doubt enhance the overall dining experience on campus and show that we listen to and respond to demands.”
