1. What made you feel connected to DeSales?
I felt connected as soon as I stepped on campus. It was such a great experience. I was looking at other campuses, and I was a little worried because I wasn’t feeling that homey feeling. As soon as I stepped onto DeSales’ campus, I felt at home and like I could live the next four years here.

2. Describe your reaction when you found out you won the Leadership Scholarship.
I could not believe it. I was jumping up and down with my parents. We were in so much shock. I was so happy; I think that was one of the most exciting moments of my life.

3. Describe the interview process.
I had a Zoom interview, and I got to talk to everyone on the committee. It was such an awesome experience. Everyone was so nice. Of course, I’m going to have those nerves. But everyone made me feel so comfortable, and I felt like I could just be myself.

4. How will you continue your leadership skills at DeSales?
I’m on the field hockey team, and I’m also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. I’m thinking about next year possibly being an RA, and I definitely want to get involved with Character U. I want to try to get involved in a lot of different things.

5. What’s your favorite thing about DeSales?
The opportunities that DeSales has for its students. There is so much that you can do, and there’s a lot to get involved in. That’s something I was definitely looking for in a college. You can meet more people that way too.

The Leadership Scholarship is offered to six students who have shown outstanding leadership in their high school careers and who plan to continue to develop those skills at DeSales. The deadline to apply is December 1, 2021.
