Trexler Tuesday: Self Checkout with MeeScan

Students, faculty, and staff who want to social distance are encouraged to try the Library’s meeScan app, our new self-checkout service. The meeScan self check station is located near the First Floor Release Printer. In addition to a quicker and more private experience, meeScan will keep track of your checkouts by sending an email receipt for every book you borrow.  

Here’s how to use the meeScan self checkout station:

1. Scan your DeSales University ID under the meeScan screen using the barcode on the back.
2. Scan your items, one at a time, at the station. Wait for the green “Success” light each time.
3. Touch the “Finish” button on the kiosk screen to end your session and log out. 
4. Wipe down the screen with a cleansing wipe, located next to the check out station.
5. You will receive an email receipt listing the books and other items you’ve checked out.

Coming Soon: We will be rolling out a new feature so you can use your phone to check out books right in the stacks.
