2019 Career & Internship Fair Sets New Attendance Record
Nearly 200 DeSales students and alumni joined the Career Development Center at this year’s 10th annual CONNECTIONS: Career & Internship Fair.
Students from all majors and class levels were able to discuss job opportunities with representatives from 32 selected local companies, including ArtsQuest, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Olympus Corporation of America, and Pennsylvania State Police.
This year’s fair saw a number of DeSales alumni returning as representatives of their companies. 2018 TV/Film graduate Dakota Reinike, who attended the fair when she was a student, landed an internship for ASR Media Productions during her senior year, becoming a full-time employee just three months after graduating.
“It’s good to get the exposure of what opportunities are available in your area,” says Reinike.
Senior marketing major Sergio Diaz was a first-timer at this year’s fair.
“This is really opening my eyes,” says Diaz. “I’m starting to realize that all companies, whether it’s Sherwin-Williams or Lutron Electronics, they all need marketing majors. I can go anywhere with this degree.”
This year’s fair was the largest ever attended, at 175 attendees, increasing by more than 50 students since the 2017 fair.
