Lara K. Goudsouzian, Ph.D.
Associate Professor
Dr. Lara Goudsouzian (Dr. G) completed her undergraduate education at the University of California at Berkeley and was awarded her Ph.D. from the Department of Molecular Biology at Princeton University. She teaches intermediate and advanced molecular biology courses at DeSales, as well as cancer biology and biology for non-majors. Her research interests include the study of chromosomal stability in the model organism Saccharomyces cerevisiae, DNA barcoding, and the use of Next Generation Sequencing to identify soil bacterial communities. Dr. G. is an active member of the biology education community. She has received several grants and awards to implement innovative teaching methods into her courses and is a teaching mentor for new faculty at other universities. If Dr. G. is not on campus, that usually means she is packing a bag and getting ready to board a plane. She hasn't been everywhere, but it's on her list.
