Amy K. S. Scott, Ph.D.
Professor
Dr. Scott received her BA from Penn State and MBA and Ph.D. from Lehigh University. Her doctoral studies in economics included concentrations in public finance and international economics.
Prior to coming to the Division of Business at DeSales, Dr. Scott taught at both Lehigh University and Lafayette College. She teaches courses in economics and finance at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Undergraduate courses taught include: Economics of Public Issues, Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Microeconomics, and Personal Finance.
In the MBA program, she teaches Economics and Managerial Finance.
Her articles have appeared in several journals, including Thunderbird International Business Review, Sport Management International Journal, Journal of Sport and Tourism, and International Economic Journal. Her current research includes the regional economic impact of sporting events. Past projects include the 2009 U.S. Women's Open Golf Championship and the Lehigh Valley Marathon for Via 2010-2018.
She has co-authored a textbook that was published in 2020, with DeSales associate professor Bradley Barhorst, CFA, for Flat World Knowledge entitled Managerial Finance, with the latest edition published in March 2021.
