Director's Welcome
On behalf of our faculty and staff, I thank you for your interest in our Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
We are happy to help provide you with the information you will need to guide your decision-making toward an exciting career in physical therapy. As you navigate through these pages and links, we hope that our site provides you with the answers you are searching for. But, more importantly, we wish to tell the story of what it means to become a DeSales University graduate student.
Our patron Saint Francis de Sales said: "Be Who You Are and Be That Well." As the unofficial DeSales motto, his words are more than just a catchy phrase to us.
We recognize that there are hundreds of places where you can earn your DPT degree. However, at DeSales University, we don’t separate the academic learning from your growing as a person.
Our program philosophy is based on Christian Humanistic values of respect for the individual, of gentleness and humility, and of treating each other with dignity and honesty. Not only are these ideals central to the Salesian way of life, they correlate perfectly with the principles associated with becoming a compassionate, caring physical therapist.
We have designed a contemporary curriculum that will prepare YOU to function competently in a variety of physical therapy settings, with the communication and clinical reasoning skills needed to address the health care needs of any patient population.
So, if you see your future self as a highly-educated physical therapist who strives to be identified as a movement expert — someone who is passionate about serving others through this professional career path — someone who makes a difference in another person’s life every day, then we invite you to explore the DeSales University DPT program.
