The Master of Science in Nursing degree includes four types of courses: core, advanced core, specialty, and clinical. The specialty and clinical courses will vary based on your chosen concentration, so refer to the course catalog for detailed curriculum information. Learn procedures such as suturing, anesthesia, X-ray interpretation, chest tube placement, central line placement, and EKG interpretation.

Admission Requirements

  • An active registered nurse (RN) license, or eligibility for licensure, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. New Jersey licensure as a registered nurse is also required prior to beginning the clinical sequence for all MSN programs.
  • Evidence of the equivalent of 12 months of full-time nursing practice prior to starting clinical in the NP and CNS Programs.
  • Satisfactory performance on either the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) taken within the past five years; GRE/MAT will be waived for applicants with an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate schools attended
  • Current resume or curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement

Prerequisites

To be eligible for the DeSales MSN programs, you must hold a Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent from a foreign institution.
