The Salesian Center for Faith & Culture will host a special presentation on Sports & Social Justice: at a Cultural Crossroads featuring Doug Glanville, ESPN analyst/commentator and author. The event will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the DeSales University Center, in Center Valley, Pa. There will be a discussion with the audience following the presentation. The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
Glanville published his first book The Game from Where I Stand in 2010 and is a contributor to New York Times and Time magazine. He has also contributed to XM Radio and Comcast SportsNet Chicago. He is an academic and athletic All-American while at the University of Pennsylvania and he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs and made his major league debut in 1996. Glanville was a member of the Philadelphia Phillies from 1998-2002 and 2004, and with the Texas Rangers in 2003.
