Effective immediately and in accordance with Pennsylvania Act 153, all new faculty and staff at DeSales University whose position with the University has been determined to potentially have direct contact or routine interaction with individuals under 18 years of age must successfully complete a background check, including a Criminal History Report from the Pennsylvania State Police, a Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services and a fingerprint based criminal history submitted through the FBI as a condition of employment. Additional background checks may be required based on the specific requirements of the position.

Type: Part Time Non-Exempt

Location: Athletics

 Scope:

DeSales University is an NCAA Division III member. The assistant coach will assist the head coach during practices and games, and in the recruiting of potential student athletes. There is a preference to a qualified candidate that possesses pitching playing and/or coaching experience.

 Qualifications:

  • Attention to NCAA rules and policies required
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Prior softball coaching or playing experience required
  • Pitching experience (either as a player, coach, or both) preferred
  • Sensitive to issues of ethnicity, disability and diversity
  • Dedicated to the mission of a small, Catholic, liberal arts institution
